THERAPEUTIC STYLE

RELATIONSHIP PROCESS GROUP

Respecting and using therapeutic approaches from a variety of perspectives, below is a list of the approaches I most often draw upon. Do you struggle with finding and maintaining relationships? Are you and your significant other frustrated at the level of intimacy in your relationship? Do you find it difficult to make friends? Do you often feel like an outcast in social situations?

• Existential = Becoming aware of the meaning of our existence, our fears around death, our awareness of choice in every moment, and our need for relationships, which all lead to a much richer and fulfilling life.

• Modern Psychoanalytic = Exploring early childhood attachments and creating a relationship with the therapist which heals the primal wounds.

• Psychodynamic perspective = Embracing that all your emotions and thoughts are significant and worth exploring and that you have a good reason for them.

• Lifespan integration = Building self strength and integrating all the parts of you into a highly functioning adult.

• Spiritual = Through facing the pain from the people who have harmed you, coming to a place where you can forgive. Forgiveness is a daunting task and I will walk with you through this difficult journey offering empathy as you struggle.

In addition, I will often refer movies and books to people that I believe will impact them.

Relationship Groups are highly beneficial.

Next starting date: October 8th, 2008
Time: 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Where: 2722 Colby Ave. Suite 626
Everett, WA 98201
To join: call Paul Baxter to schedule a consultation meeting (425) 241 - 3098.

A consultation Meeting is to determine if you will be a good fit for the group and to answer any questions you may have about the group.

Some people attend Group while utilizing individual therapy as a way to increase their progress. Group provides an opportunity for clients to learn how they are perceived by others and to uncover where they struggle in relationships. Clients can then work more intensely in individual therapy on the issues that are raised in Group. Many clients find Group to be very supportive as they realize that they are not alone in their struggles. Group gives people the opportunity to experiment with new ways of relating to people.
